Artists in Fulton County Watch Their Photo Come to Life on Soofa Signs

Fulton County is always looking for unique and captivating ways to engage their community members in arts and culture. On a warm Saturday evening in July, they invited local photographers to come together for the inaugural Fulton County Photo Walk, called Fulton in Focus. Nearly 30 Atlanta-based photographers participated in the two-and-a-half hour walk that went through Little Five Points and Inman Park. Soofa partnered with Fulton County Arts and Culture to promote the event on Soofa Signs across Atlanta leading up to the walk itself and shared photographs from those who joined.

Art walks are a great way for our team to engage communities across Fulton County. While many people tend to stay in their neighborhoods or get caught up in their routines, the art walk gives people a reason to explore more of Fulton County, meet neighbors and new friends, and have new experiences. Everyone has an opportunity to experience and create art, that’s the goal!

From the old homes and warehouses of Inman park to the murals and sculptures along the Beltline, and the eclectic nature of Little Five Points, the photo walk route provided a wide array of scenery which allowed the photographers to resonate with different aspects of the walk. To build buzz and further engagement, three awards were given to recognize the best of the best from the art walk.

First Prize: @aniket_shirishkumar - A Cigarette a Day.. Keeps the Doctor in pay (https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz9l-vljj1c/)

People’s Choice - @jahi._ - LoveBirds (https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz6fbp0pONj/)

When the walk ended, photographers did not have to travel far to see their favorite shots. Anyone who tagged @mysoofa or used the #soofa hashtag on social media after the walk was able to see their photos on Soofa’s neighborhood news feeds in Little Five Points. Many even posted their photos directly after the event onto more signs across Atlanta with Soofa Talk.

The ability to bring someone’s artwork to life and provide a platform for them to share it with their community as a whole is exactly how we designed the Soofa Sign to be used. The neighborhood news feed is seen by everyone and accessible to anyone. We’ve gotten such positive feedback from the photographers that participated and look forward to collaborating with the talented and creative team at the county.
