Solano Community College Welcomes Soofa Signs to Campus: A New Era of Smart, Sustainable Communication

As part of the college’s commitment to modernize campus infrastructure and enhance student communication, solar-powered Soofa Signs have been installed across their campus in just under an hour, instantly delivering announcements, news, event and transit information in real-time.

A Smarter, Greener Campus
Solano College is one of the first higher education institutions to join Soofa’s growing network of smart signage partners. Their Soofa Signs will help the college communicate directly with students, faculty, and visitors by displaying campus events, important updates, way-finding maps, social media feeds, and community messages, all powered by the sun.
Since Soofa Signs operate entirely off-grid, they’re easy to install and fully sustainable—perfectly aligned with Solano’s mission to adopt environmentally responsible technology that supports both students and the planet.

Soofa Signs move public messaging out of inboxes and into the physical spaces students navigate every day. From last-minute room changes and student government meetings to campus directions and mental health reminders, Solano College can now keep its community informed in real time

Beyond the campus community, the signs also offer a platform for local information, creating a unique bridge between the college and the surrounding area. For example, the signs will feature transit information, weather, and air quality data.
