A New Years Message from our CEO

With the new year upon us, I’m reflecting on what a year 2020 was. 2020 was unlike any year I’ve experienced in my lifetime—and while challenging, unpredictable, and difficult, it showed us how powerful resilience, innovation, and teamwork can be.

Like so many others, Soofa adapted to life during COVID-19. We shifted immediately to a remote working environment, and we focused on what our people and partners needed to get through this time. We updated our screen layout to help connect residents with up-to-the-minute PSAs and COVID-19 updates. Our municipal partners adapted Soofa’s COVID-19 templates to push out information regarding school closures, canceled events, transit disruptions, public relief sources, and local business grants quickly and easily.

We also took steps to help alleviate the stresses that many local businesses felt over the course of 2020. In March, when many shops were forced to close, we provided our local advertising partners with free advertising as they shifted to virtual operations. We added a “pause” button to all campaigns, making it easy for local businesses to stop and start campaigns as needed. We also created a “What’s Open” applet to highlight local businesses’ operational and service changes on the Soofa Signs.

We are continuously inspired by and grateful for our advertising partners, who see the value in local out of home advertising, especially during this hyperlocal time we’re living in. We’ve worked tirelessly to understand their evolving needs to ensure our products help them meet their goals. We launched our Engagement Takeover in December—an OOH product allowing the viewer to interact directly with the advertiser’s brand, boosting ad engagement. It’s been exciting to see what our advertisers have done with the Takeover so far, and I look forward to seeing more creative campaigns in 2021.

I’m also proud and grateful for our ability to grow our business despite a tough economic climate. In July, we completed a Series Seed A round of funding, accompanied with the appointment of a new Chairman of the Board. This has allowed us to continue to invest in the growth and expansion of our product.

We installed Soofa Signs in ten communities in 2020, expanding into Western Massachusetts and outside of the City of Atlanta. We are working as hard as we can to fulfill our backlog with growing demand from municipalities all over the country. We can’t wait to work with more cities, towns, and advertising partners in 2021.

Here’s to the New Year,

Sandra
