Hermiston becomes the First City in Oregon to Install Soofa City Communication Signs
Located in Eastern Oregon, Hermiston is home to many parks, over 19,000 residents, and now new Soofa Signs! In partnership with the Hermiston government, the new Soofa Signs will push out city communications, share tweets from local community groups, and share messaging on City Council meetings and capital projects.
The solar-powered, self-contained Soofa Signs allow city communications to reach areas with limited internet access.
“Hermiston is excited to roll out this new technology to better communicate with our citizens and visitors. We have a long history of embracing new ideas and incorporating them into our outreach efforts. These kiosks are self-contained and self-updating, making them a low-cost investment. By installing information kiosks that do not need connections to the power grid or fiber optic communications we can connect with areas that are otherwise underserved by the city’s communication strategy,” said a city official.
Hermiston is the first city in Oregon to install Soofa Signs, and we look forward to expanding throughout the state.
