Soofa Smart Digital Signage Reaches Miami to Enhance the Public Transportation Experience
Soofa Signs have made their way South—down the Eastern Seaboard and to the vibrant and bustling city of Miami, Florida.
The Sunshine State’s first adopter of Soofa technology, Miami-Dade County, is bolstering its smart-city infrastructure and improving its public transit systems with Soofa technology. The partnership between Soofa and the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works seeks to enhance the public transportation experience for riders and tourists in Miami through access to relevant, accurate information like real-time transit updates and news.
The first phase of installation includes Signs in the Brickell and Government Station stations of the Metromover, Miami’s above-ground rapid transit system.
The Signs will provide passengers with real-time transportation updates alongside information about events and activities happening in the community, COVID-19 guidelines for public transit, city announcements, and other relevant information to make the riders’ journey safer, easier, and more enjoyable.
The solar-powered Signs are wrapped in a full-color vinyl sticker highlighting local attractions near each of the Metromover stops, helping to orient and direct passengers when they reach their destination.
In conjunction with the Department of Transportation, Soofa will conduct user testing, field studies, and online surveys to identify the Sign’s features that citizens and passengers care about the most.
Through interviews, research, and observation, Soofa will assess the improvement in transit rider experience at the stops and stations where Signs are installed while continuing to iterate on product features to ensure Soofa technology benefits all citizens.
