New Soofa Signs Bolster the Seaport’s Community Identity
After a successful pilot project, Soofa is collaborating with WS Development to launch additional Soofa Signs in the Seaport.
The Soofa Sign is the neighborhood news feed that connects a community with screens everyone can see and anyone can use. Soofa Signs in the One Seaport Courtyard and adjacent to The Current have kept people in the Seaport up to date and engaged with what’s happening in the neighborhood.
With real-time digital content displayed including local events, news, messages from nearby businesses, and recommendations, the Soofa Signs make walking through the Seaport an even more serendipitous experience. Additional Signs were installed earlier this week, expanding the reach of the neighborhood news feed network to Congress Street and Harbor Way.
”We are thrilled to expand in the Seaport. The neighborhood represents everything we look for in a successful Soofa Sign urban environment: it is lively and energizing; home to many of the world's most innovative companies and great retailers; as well as programmed daily with engaging events and pop ups that drive people to visit and stay. Our signs amplify the great work WS Development and its partners are doing to bring people together and serve the surrounding community.”
- Edward Krafcik, VP City Development, Soofa
Nestled between Boston’s beautiful waterfront and the historic Fort Point district, lies a vibrant and bustling neighborhood with a unique appeal. A synergistic community of artists, innovators, and entrepreneurs, Seaport has forged a culture all its own. The atmosphere in Boston Seaport is steeped in history but imbued with a creative, youthful energy.
Soofa Signs help visitors and neighbors serendipitously uncover the magic of the Seaport.
Walk by the neighborhood news feed and you’ll see a promotion for an event happening later that day in Seaport Common, a new special or unique promotion from one of the dozens of incredible retailers and restaurants across the neighborhood, and news about an upcoming pop up that you haven’t heard about yet.
As more people live, work, and play in the Seaport, the need for real-time communication will become ever more important.
Soofa Signs are an important layer in the continued evolution of the Seaport and the development of its identity and character unlike anywhere else in the City of Boston.
“As a dynamic and forward-thinking neighborhood, Seaport is a natural place of connectivity and engagement within the public realm. Soofa’s mission of making community news and events accessible to all perfectly complements our objectives for the public realm in Seaport. We are happy to continue our partnership with this innovative startup.”
