Soofa Sign FAQ
Soofa Signs are a unique digital communication platform that are increasing standards for outdoor advertising and public messaging. Here’s a breakdown of some common questions we get about how Soofa Signs work, what makes them different, and how businesses and communities can benefit from them.
1. What are Soofa Signs?
Soofa Signs are solar-powered digital kiosks placed in high-foot-traffic outdoor or indoor areas. They offer a sustainable and dynamic way to display digital content, ranging from community updates and events to targeted advertisements.
2. Are Soofa Signs 100% solar-powered?
Yes! Our signs run on 100% solar power and are entirely wireless, making them eco-friendly and easy to install with just four bolts in the ground. They operate both inside and outside thanks to a long lasting rechargeable battery at the top of the signs. Soofa Signs have also been proven effective in extreme weather conditions like snow and hurricanes.
The screens are high resolution E-Ink technology which are similar to an e-reader and allow for highly visible, low-energy content display even in direct sunlight. Soofa Signs connect via cellular networks to enable remote content updates. When content changes, E-Ink uses a screen transition that helps clear old content and replace it with the new. This eco-friendly communication approach helps cities and advertisers reduce and feel better about their environmental footprint.
3. How are Soofa Signs different from traditional billboards?
Unlike traditional billboards, Soofa Signs are digital, solar-powered, and interactive. They provide dynamic, location-based content and are positioned at eye level in pedestrian-heavy areas, creating a more engaging experience for viewers. Advertisers can change their creative at any time and monitor how it’s performing with the help of informed audience data.
4. How is audience engagement measured with Soofa Signs?
Soofa Signs use sensors to collect anonymous data and analyze foot traffic patterns. They gather insights such as the number of people passing by, and QR code scans. This data helps advertisers and community managers refine their messages to ensure they’re relevant and engaging for the local audience.
Soofa does not collect any identifying information from a person or device.
Our sensor technology operates by solely detecting a unique identifier (MAC address) from passing mobile devices with enabled wifi. It's important to note that this MAC address is encrypted directly on the sensor device before transmission to Soofa’s backend and data visualization portal. No other information beyond the MAC address is being collected, no data correlation is performed and the information is not shared with any 3rd party.
5. How do communities benefit from Soofa Signs?
Soofa Signs allow cities and community organizations to communicate directly with residents and visitors. They’re a powerful and low-impact tool for spreading local news, sharing public safety alerts, promoting events, and fostering a stronger sense of community.
Landowners can customize their signs with various widgets like polls, local updates, weather, air quality, and wayfinding maps or give our team feedback on developing new ones. This enhances the flow of local information and strengthens the connection between the community and its residents. Check out examples of community success stories:
6. What kind of results have advertisers seen from using Soofa Signs?
