Soofa Technology Arrives in a Washington D.C. Park
The D.C. Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) and Living Classrooms, an experiential learning organization, has brought Soofa technology to Kingman and Heritage Islands Park. The islands are located in Washington D.C., right on the Anacostia River. The City has invested heavily in educational and recreational improvements on the island recently, including the introduction of Soofa Signs.
The Signs connect visitors with tide and water quality data.
The product of dredging the Anacostia River, this secluded bit of nature is home to over one hundred different species of birds, mammals, and other wildlife. The islands contain important and rare ecosystems such as tidal freshwater wetlands, vernal pools, wildflower meadows, and tidal swamp forests. Our Signs will serve to better inform visitors with real-time information and updates on the area.
The colorful vinyl wrap was customized for the park and features a map for visitors to consult while exploring the diverse ecosystems the Kingman and Heritage Islands Park has to offer.
