Soofa Expands Northern California Presence with Sign Installations in City of Milpitas

Soofa Signs have reached Milpitas, California, making them the eighth city in the state to use our solar-powered communication platform

The Soofa Signs are located near key places of community gatherings, allowing residents to engage in city happenings and see public service announcements. For example, Milpitas often uses the signs to post about city job offerings or public reminders to stay hydrated.

Additionally, Milpitas uses their neighborhood news feed to feature the city's Twitter feed, @MilpitasCityGov, as well as the police and fire department's Twitter feeds: @MilpitasPD and @MilpitasFire. The outer vinyl design of the signs includes a wayfinding map on the back, highlighting key areas of interest and historical elements of the city.

“Our Soofa partnership is consistent with the City’s infrastructure modernization program designed to improve citywide services and conserve and generate clean energy. We are thrilled to be able to add a sustainable technology channel, which will also help increase the way we engage and communicate with the Milpitas community,” said Charmaine Angelo, the City of Milpitas’ Public Information Officer.

The signs have been placed strategically around points of interest throughout Milpitas, including city hall, the library, and the American Sports Center.

With Milpitas now home to Soofa Signs, our presence in California has increased to more than 30 signs throughout the state.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Milpitas, furthering our growth in California,” says Holly McKenna, VP of Marketing & Sales at Soofa. “The city of Milpitas shares our core values of community engagement, and we are looking forward to helping the city share communication effortlessly while expanding its smart city infrastructure.”
